Membership to the South Haven Scott Club is open to all, and while members are predominately women, we are glad to count several men as part of our club. Members are from all walks of life and provide a rich mix of experiences to the organization.
The Scott Club presents at least 20 programs each year, is open to all, and owns its 126-year-old building which is a designated Michigan Historical Site. Programs are both educational and entertaining and are presented by authors, artists, musicians, other organizations and experts in a variety of fields. Programs are typically held in the upstairs meeting room and followed by refreshments served in the lower level. For those with mobility limitations, the programs are projected onto a flat screen with audio in the lower level.
The Scott Club provides treats to area children on Halloween, hosts an annual Community Soup Luncheon, poetry readings by elementary children, an annual Breakfast with Santa and provides member volunteers for community events such as the National Blueberry Festival. Annual fundraisers include a spring Flower Sale and a Rummage Sale.
