March 3, 2020 – Healing with Herbs

Home-grown medicine also known as herbs and weeds can be used naturally to help your body fight against common ailments. Ms. Zwar, Registered Nurse will discuss some favorite plants that can be used medicinally.

February 18, 2020 – Monarch Migration – Where Do They Go and What Happens When They Arrive?

Returning to Scott Club by popular request, the Butterfly Lady, Janice Wick, will explain how monarchs prepare and navigate for migration and will let you know how you can help ensure a successful migration. Janice will have monarch conservation information sheets available along with Common and Swamp Milkweed seeds to share. Let’s think spring and prepare for the upcoming monarch season.

February 4, 2020 – Plant-based Cuisine and the Future of Food

Chef, baker, farmer and owner of Water and Wheat Vegan Cafe in Coloma, Josh Musinski, has a rich background in plant-based cuisine. Josh will share his perspectives with us along with some samples that will amaze you.

January 21, 2020 – What is on the Horizon for the City of South Haven?

Mr. Hunter, Director of the South Haven Department of Public Works, will discuss current City plans including recently mandated projects due to new state requirements influenced by the Flint water crisis.

December 7, 2019 – Breakfast with Santa

Come join in a festive holiday morning celebration. Breakfast of pancakes and sausages will be served while you enjoy holiday music on our Everett concert grand piano. Santa himself will be on site to visit with each and every child. Bring your camera to capture the special holiday moments.

Two breakfast times available, 10:00am and 11:00am. Children $5 and adults $8. RSVP required by December 4th.

December 3, 2019 – The Zoo at Christmas

Local actress Lynn Lyon will read Jane Gardam’s The Zoo at Christmas. All are invited for this holiday treat!

November 23, 2019 – Community Soup Luncheon

11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. This long-standing South Haven tradition coincides with the opening of Mistletoe Market at the South Haven Center for the Arts. Enjoy a hearty soup, beverage and dessert and the camaraderie of friends and neighbors. Lunch to go will be available. Cost: $8.00

November 19, 2019 – Marijuana – The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

By Dr. Michael Vasko
Dr. Vasko will discuss the potential benefits and risks of using cannabinoids, the major active drugs in marijuana. He also will discuss the potential advantages and perils of the legalization of marijuana.
